Guests have full use of the lovely garden and surrounding grounds and the privately owned jetty is ideal for those who wish to bring their own boat. There are numerous beautiful walks and picnic spots within easy reach of the house as well as excellent cycling on both forest and quiet single track roads.
Fishing in Loch Awe is available. Permission to fish from Inverinan Mor’s grounds,
or from a boat,
is available from the owner by prior request. Otherwise permits are required.
Boat hire is available locally.
There is an abundance of wildlife throughout the year. Deer, Fox, Pine Martens and Red Squirrels can often be seen near The Cottage. The different seasons bring a wide variety of birds including Eagles, Osprey, Hawks, Buzzards and Owls - smaller varieties include the Swift, Swallow and House Martins - and at night Bats. Fish in the loch include Salmon, Brown Trout, Ferox Trout, Sea Trout, Perch, Pike and occasionally Rainbow Trout (escapees from the fish farms).
Dalavich (4.5 miles) - shop/café plus boat & bicycle hire available.
Kilchrenan (5 miles) - pub serving bar meals plus two wonderful loch side hotels offering gourmet dining.
Taynuilt (12 miles) - 9 hole golf course, butcher, well stocked grocer, Post Office, hairdresser and good coffee shop as well as trains to Oban and Glasgow.
Oban (24 miles) - full range of shops, restaurants, cinema, 18-hole golf course, riding stables, sports leisure complex and many excellent day trips by Ferry to Mull, Iona and inner Hebridean islands.
